Kate, a licensed therapist in New York, sits looking at the camera, smiling broadly. She is white, has long honey blonde hair and wears glasses. She is in a navy polka dot top with a teal cardigan.

Perhaps you find yourself thinking that your life seems good on paper, but you still don’t feel “good enough.”

Maybe you can name and think through past hurts, but they still seem to be holding you back.

Welcome, I’m Kate, a licensed therapist in New York. I specialize in trauma, family of origin challenges, codependency and grief.

You may be feeling overwhelmed, resentful, guilt-ridden, or uncertain about the choices you are making in your life.

You may be realizing that you always put other people’s needs first, which leaves you neglecting your own.

You may be living your day to day with a constant weight on your shoulders or pit in your stomach.

You may be living a life where you feel like you’re following a script you didn’t write.

You may be realizing that your relationships aren’t fulfilling, and you’ve lost sight of who you are and what you need.

You may be feeling like your emotions aren’t aligned with what you or others expect or want them to be.

I’m Kate, a therapist in NYC who works with trauma, family of origin challenges, codependency and grief. This may look like people pleasing, anxiety in relationships, or low self-esteem, among other things.

I use a mix of techniques, including parts work, somatic therapy, attachment focused EMDR, and psychodynamic therapy. Additionally, I’m a licensed creative arts therapist who was trained as a music therapist. I want to help you break free from shame and doubt, and learn to trust yourself.

I hope that in working together, you will find that you feel more grounded and confident in yourself and in your relationships.

I have in person availability in New York City, and online availability across New York State

Why therapy with Kate?

I am passionate about how therapy can change lives for the better. I have seen this with my clients, and have experienced this in my own personal therapy.

I’ve learned that being able to articulate and examine life challenges are often only one piece of the puzzle. Healing also includes feeling, moving, creating, exploring. I love companioning people in the therapy space, helping to more deeply understand and navigate emotional experiences, and finding paths to what is healthy for each individual.

I invite you to join me in a shame-free space, where we use compassion and curiosity on the way to healing.
